Data Visualization for Contact Tracing Statistics

Description

Looking back on this project from 2020 and 2021, it just seems ironic now... Dang Covid. This was the first project during my undergrad that I became involved in. I joined a group of upperclassmen and helped with their project in contact tracing. The main project involved outfitting people with Bluetooth tags that could then record when others came into proximity, which could help in following the spread of infection.

My part of the project involved taking the data they collected and converting it into network visualizations. I also received the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Grant for this project, the experience was really rewarding. I can honestly say that this project introduced me to mentors and faculty that have played a huge role in my life at UH Manoa. It's strange looking back at how my seemingly random choices led me to somewhere great.
